Ghanaian actor Mawuli Gavor has revealed why he left his corporate job at global accounting firm KPMG to fully pursue a career in entertainment.
In an interview on the Blackvolta Podcast, Gavor shared that he initially tried to balance his job at KPMG with early morning modelling and photoshoot commitments.
Naija News reports that at the time, he was earning 770 cedis monthly while struggling to meet the demands of both worlds.
The clash between his corporate schedule and creative opportunities eventually pushed him to make a choice.
According to him, a major turning point came when a brand he worked with offered to pay him the equivalent of his annual salary at once.
The offer made him rethink the limits of regular office work and gave him the confidence to resign from his corporate role.
Gavor explained that moving into the creative industry was not just about making more money but also about gaining freedom and time.
He added that the experience shaped his decision to focus fully on acting and other entertainment projects.
He said: “If somebody gave you your one-year salary in one day, not even like one month, one day… it is one of the reasons why I struggle to ever go back to living the regular 9-5. Because I figured that if you can figure out a way to work within the creative economy, it is not necessary that you make so much more money, but you save so much more time.”
