Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has named the three players he believes stand the best chance of winning the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Marcus Rashford, who is spending the season on loan at the Camp Nou, has singled out teammates Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, alongside French winger Ousmane Dembélé, as deserving contenders for football’s most prestigious individual award.
“[Ousmane] Dembélé, Raphinha, they all deserve it,” Rashford told reporters. “It’s hard to pick one, but they’re all mature and have had a fantastic season. Lamine is so young that he is sure to win it. He’s a top talent, a top player.”
The England international’s comments come as no surprise given the impressive campaigns the trio have enjoyed.
Yamal, just 17, has lit up La Liga with dazzling performances well beyond his age, while Raphinha has delivered consistency in both domestic and European competitions. Dembele, meanwhile, has rediscovered his best form, becoming one of Barcelona’s most decisive players in the final third.
All three were recently named among the 30-man shortlist for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, an acknowledgment of their impact across the season.
The recognition also highlights Barcelona’s resurgence under their current project, with several players once again competing at the very top level.
While competition for the prize remains fierce with stars from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City also in contention, Rashford believes his teammates’ collective brilliance makes them genuine challengers for the award.
