Club Brugge midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, is edging closer to a move to Turkey after agreeing on personal terms with Galatasaray.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Raphael Onyedika, 24, has given the green light to Galatasaray’s offer, paving the way for negotiations between the Turkish champions and Brugge.
“24-year-old Onyedika accepted Galatasaray’s offer, and the management has started transfer negotiations with the Belgian team. Cim Bom has activated a loan formula with a mandatory purchase option for the star player,” the publication reported.
Galatasaray are believed to have tabled an official proposal that includes a €5 million loan fee and a €15 million mandatory purchase clause, bringing the deal’s total value to €20 million. However, Brugge are holding out for €25 million before sanctioning the sale.
Onyedika, who joined the Belgian giants in 2022, is understood to be open to the move as he looks to take the next big step in his career.
The midfielder has also attracted attention from West Ham United, with the Premier League side reportedly viewing him as a possible replacement for Mexico international Edson Álvarez.
The player’s situation comes at a delicate time for Club Brugge, who are already battling to keep hold of other key names.
Defender Joel Ordoñez is pushing for a transfer to Marseille, while forward Christos Tzolis was the subject of a rejected €32 million offer from Crystal Palace earlier this month.
With Galatasaray prioritising midfield reinforcements after their failed pursuit of Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, Onyedika has quickly risen to the top of their shortlist.
A breakthrough in talks is expected in the coming days, with the Nigerian midfielder reportedly eager to join the Turkish giants, who completed the permanent signing of his countryman, Victor Osimhen, earlier this summer.
