The Media Aide to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has reacted to the defection of youth advocate, Comrade Odih Rowland, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News reports that Rowland, who served as Director-General of the Atiku Youth Wing Campaign Organisation, announced his defection to the ADC on August 1, 2025, describing it as a move for “political realignment.”
However, in a letter dated August 27, 2025, titled “My Sincere Apologies” and addressed to the PDP leadership, Rowland admitted that his exit was a mistake.
In a post via 𝕏 on Thursday, Paul Ibe stated that the pathway to a successful presidential bid by Atiku continues to be clearer by the day as it becomes inevitable that Nigerians are desirous of a leadership that will rescue the country from the failed administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Ibe also clarified that Rowland was never an employee of Atiku, contrary to claims circulating on social media, stressing that his resignation from ADC does not pose a setback to the former VP’s presidential ambition.
He said, “The pathway to a successful presidential bid of His Excellency Atiku Abubakar continues to be clearer by the day as it becomes inevitable that Nigerians are desirous of a leadership that will rescue the country from the failed Tinubu administration. Any attempt to suggest that Atiku’s prospective bid has suffered a setback, as was the case with one online tatters, http://newsweekng.com, because one Odih Rowland purportedly decided to return to his mess is a joke taken too far.
“For the records, Rowland is not an aide to Atiku in any shape or form. The Oxford dictionary defines an “aide” as “an assistant to an important person, especially a political leader.” The said Rowland has never acted as an assistant to the Waziri of Adamawa. Any attempt to link him to the former Vice President is propaganda aimed at achieving a nefarious outcome.”
