The death of Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Sanku, has continued to stir reactions on social media amid rumours on his lifestyle before his passing.
The skit maker lost his life in a car accident on Monday, September 1, a development that shocked fans and colleagues across the country.
Soon after the news broke, rumours began to circulate that the entertainer was involved in ritual practices to grow his career.
In response, his mother released a video where she dismissed the allegations.
She explained that her late son relied only on her prayers and never turned to any form of spiritual practice.
According to her, Sanku was not connected to herbalists or rituals, and the stories being spread about him were false.
She described him as a young man who constantly asked for her prayers and believed that they were the source of his progress in life.
“You can’t give him any spiritual item that he will ever use. He always says it’s my prayers that are working for him. He always says I should keep on praying. My son didn’t do anything spiritual. He knows no herbalists whatsoever. I’ve been hearing what everyone has been saying that he might’ve done something spiritual. My son didn’t go anywhere or do any form of rituals,” she said, speaking in the Yoruba language.
