Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged opposition political figures to form a coalition, noting that such an alliance would make it easier to defeat President Bola Tinubu.
Naija News reports that the Sokoto South Senator disclosed this while appearing on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, on Friday.
Tambuwal declared that President Tinubu cannot defeat an opposition comprising former President Goodluck Jonathan, ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
According to Tambuwal, if these political figures decide to run in 2027, Tinubu will not be able to win against them.
He said: “It will be easier for the opposition to form an alliance to defeat Tinubu but if Tinubu, Jonathan, Atiku, Peter Obi, and Kwankwaso run in the same election that would be difficult for Tinubu to win.
“When this happens the dynamics will be different and a lot of things will change the way people will vote.”
On his favourite presidential candidate, Tambuwal said: “When they all declare openly then I will come back and tell you my choice.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-Central Chairmen Forum, Sunday Fagbemi, has boasted that President Bola Tinubu has done enough regarding economic recovery.
Fagbemi, the Chairman of Kwara APC, stated this on Thursday in Abuja while speaking with newsmen at the APC national secretariat.
He asserted that no distractions can stop President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s transformative policy.
He led the party’s state chairmen from the North-Central for a condolence visit to its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, who recently lost his mother.
Yilwatda’s mother died on August 17 at the age of 83 at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
Fagbemi said that the Tinubu Administration’s agenda is hinged on the core pillars of democracy, development, demographics, and diaspora engagement.
