“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16 (KJV)

MESSAGE

What is the gospel? It is the good news that Christ died for me and as me. He was buried for me and as me. He rose from the dead for me and as me. And now, He has raised me to sit together with Him in heavenly places. That, beloved, is the gospel in a nutshell.

The greatest honour you can give to God is to accept what Christ has already done for you. That is why Scripture says, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17).

Sadly, many preachers today add conditions to the finished work of Christ. We say things like, “I’ll watch you for a month to see if you’re truly saved.” But that’s not faith, that’s unbelief disguised as caution. When we do that, we are trying to do the work that belongs to the Holy Spirit. You cannot monitor a person into transformation; only the Spirit of God can do that.

Many traditions have crept into the church, traditions passed down from our forefathers. But truth cannot flow where error is protected. The Spirit of Truth will never endorse falsehood. You must stand firmly on what is true, only then will the Holy Spirit confirm His Word in your life.

So, what should you do, beloved? Believe the gospel! Believe what Christ has done for you. Receive it, even when your circumstances don’t yet reflect it. Stand on that truth irrevocably. Refuse to be moved. In the Kingdom of God, you believe before you see.

I challenge you today to become a stickler for the Word of God. Develop an insatiable hunger for it. Make it your daily habit to hear and study the Word. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Personally, I make it a point of duty to feed on the Word of God every single day. I don’t just read it; I also listen to sound teaching and preaching. That is how faith grows. That is how spiritual maturity is built.

Beloved, stay rooted in the gospel. Believe it. Live by it. And watch it transform every area of your life.
