Former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye, has explained his recent silence in the political space, saying it was due to his academic pursuits.
Melaye, who featured on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television on Monday, disclosed that he deliberately stepped back from public debates to concentrate on his studies.
He said, “I have been quiet because I was in school. I did not want Nigeria to happen to me. I needed them to let me graduate.”
The outspoken politician revealed that his decision has paid off, as he not only graduated but has now been called to the Nigerian Bar.
“I have graduated now, and I have been called to the largest Bar in Africa,” Melaye declared, beaming with satisfaction.
In other news, Melaye has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as dead and buried, alleging that the All Progressives Congress (APC) agents from the Presidential Villa are controlling the PDP.
NaijaNews reports that Melaye, who is a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), disclosed this while featuring on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday night.
The former lawmaker said, “Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ, no dead can rise again, and I want to tell you that whatever you are seeing is make-shift, the dead are dead, we can only advertise the obituary.
“Dead and buried, PDP was sold, and I’m not sure if they got the receipt of payment, but it was sold, and what you have now is APC-controlled PDP.
“It’s a party that is being controlled from the Villa; it’s the agents of the APC that control the PDP.”
