The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral “wanted” poster of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo circulating online.
Naija News reports that fake poster claimed the entrepreneur was wanted by the authorities and a certain reward would be given for information leading to her arrest.
But in a statement released on its official Facebook page on Thursday morning, the police described the poster as fake and misleading.
The Force clarified that the poster did not originate from the police and was never shared on any of its verified platforms.
The police urged the public to ignore the false information and warned against spreading such content.
It further advised Nigerians to confirm updates only through the official channels of the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement read: “FAKE NEWS ALERT! This “WANTED” poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard & stop spreading fake news. Verify only from official NPF channels.”
In other news, Influencer Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala has expressed appreciation to her mother, Iyabo Ojo, who has been by her side during her pregnancy.
Naija News reports that she revealed this in a video shared on Snapchat, where she captured her mother cooking for her.
