Publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, has disclosed that he hosted former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday.
Naija News reports that Momodu, in a post on his official 𝕏 handle, said he welcomed Obi to the Ghanaian capital in the morning before taking him to his residence for breakfast.
“Earlier this morning, I welcomed the former Labour Party Presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, His Excellency PETER OBI, to the beautiful city of Accra, Ghana, and we headed to my home for breakfast,” Momodu wrote.
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, has remained actively engaged in both local and international affairs.
Just last Sunday, he held a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, before visiting the new Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, in the Oyo State capital.
The former Anambra governor has consistently engaged with political leaders, business executives, and the Nigerian diaspora, fuelling speculations about his political ambitions ahead of 2027.
Naija News on Tuesday reported that Obi paid a courtesy visit to a faction of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, at its Lagos office.
Obi was accompanied by the LP’s 2023 Lagos governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Tanko Yunusa.
They were received by leaders of the faction, including Oba Oladipo Olaitan, Chief Supo Shonibare, former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, and the General Secretary, Chief Sola Ebiseni.
