Actress Uche Ogbodo has announced that she is leaving Instagram, informing her followers that she will no longer be active on the platform.
Naija News reports that the mother of three made the announcement in a post on her page on Wednesday, where she explained that the decision comes from a personal need to take a break from social media.
She wrote: “I’m leaving Instagram for good! I feel it’s time to rest from Social Media! It was fun while it lasted!”.
In related news, American singer Chris Brown has stepped away from social media after facing heavy criticism for a performance with sports journalist Kayla Nicole during his Breezy Bowl XX tour stop in Los Angeles.
The singer, who has often been accused of colourism in the past, came under renewed fire after bringing Nicole, the former girlfriend of NFL star Travis Kelce, on stage for a sensual act.
Many online users accused him of fueling a pattern that critics have linked to his dating history and past controversies.
The latest uproar reminded fans of a 2023 incident in the United Kingdom where two women claimed they were denied entry into a VIP section at one of his events.
Although Brown dismissed those claims, the backlash has continued to follow him.
Following the viral video of his Los Angeles show, the 35-year-old artist reacted on Instagram before deciding to deactivate his account.
He announced that he was taking a break from social media, saying the criticism had gone too far.
As of now, his Instagram page is no longer active.
