Cumulative Transfer Fees: Osimhen Tops List Of African Players [Top Ten]

African football has produced some of the most valuable footballers in the world, with clubs spending huge sums to secure their talent.

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen leads the way with record-breaking cumulative transfer fees, while other African footballers like Sadio Mané, Riyad Mahrez, and Achraf Hakimi also feature on the list.

Below are the top ten African footballers ranked by total transfer fees:

1. Victor Osimhen (€183.30m)

Osimhen stands tall at the top of this list. From his humble beginnings at Wolfsburg (€3.50m) to a permanent move at Charleroi (€3.50m), his value skyrocketed with moves to Lille (€22.40m), Napoli (€78.90m), and, most recently, Galatasaray (€75m). With 37 goals in Turkey last season, his €183.30m cumulative total is unmatched.

2. Sadio, Mané (€130.2,0m)

Senegalese legend Mané has generated over €130m in transfer fees. After early steps at Metz and RB Salzburg (€4m), Southampton sold him to Liverpool for €41.20m in 2016. Bayern Munich later signed him for €32m, before Al-Nassr paid €30m in 2023.

3. Sébastien Haller (€116.25m)

Ivory Coast striker Haller made his mark with a €12m move to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017. West Ham later splashed €50m on him, while Ajax (€22.50m) and Dortmund (€31m) also invested heavily. His journey has made him one of Africa’s most expensive footballers overall.

4. Mohammed Kudus (€115.80m)

Ghana’s Kudus has quickly risen to stardom. After moving from Nordsjaelland to Ajax for €9m, West Ham signed him for €43m in 2023. His biggest move came in 2025 when Tottenham Hotspur paid €63.80m, placing him among the elite.

5. Achraf Hakimi (€111.00m)

The Moroccan right-back is one of the most valuable defenders in the world. Inter Milan paid €43m for him in 2020, but PSG went further in 2021, spending €68m to secure his services. His total now stands at €111m.

6. Geoffrey Kondogbia (€106.00m)

The Central African Republic midfielder has racked up €106 million in six transfers. Moves to Sevilla (€4m), Monaco (€20m), and Inter (€36m) set the tone, before Valencia (€22m), Atlético Madrid ( million16m), and Marseille (€8m) added to his tally.

7. Riyad Mahrez (€103.30m)

Algerian winger Mahrez’s journey started with a €500k switch from Le Havre to Leicester City. His €67.80 million transfer to Manchester City in 2018 remains one of the Premier League’s biggest. He later joined Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia for €35 million

8. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (€99.55m)

The Gabonese forward became Arsenal’s record signing in 2018 at €63.75m. Earlier moves to Saint-Étienne (€1.80m) and Borussia Dortmund (€13m) also added up. Later stints at Barcelona, Chelsea, and Al-Qadsiah involved smaller or free deals, but his cumulative total is just shy of €100m.

9. Nicolas Pépé (€98.00m)

Though not the leader overall, Pépé holds the record for the most expensive single African transfer, Arsenal’s €80m swoop in 2019 from Lille. Earlier, Lille had signed him from Angers for €18m. Subsequent free transfers to Trabzonspor and Villarreal show how his value has dropped.

10. Naby Keïta (€91.25m)

The Guinean midfielder completes the top ten. RB Leipzig paid €29.75m for him in 2016, before Liverpool signed him for €60m in 2018. After leaving Liverpool on a free, he joined Werder Bremen and later moved on loan to Ferencváros.

Note that Nicolas Pépé holds Africa’s single biggest transfer record (€80m). But Victor Osimhen’s consistent big-money moves have placed him firmly at the top of the cumulative list.
