Popular Nollywood actor and activist, Stanley Ontop, has accused the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) of allegedly trafficking children from Delta State to Kano.
In a series of posts on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Ontop claimed that some NAPTIP officials stormed Happy Home Orphanage in Asaba on Sunday, June 15, 2025, and took away children aged between 13 and 17 without proper documentation.
“Some group of notorious NAPTIP officials from Kano invaded an orphanage here in Asaba and carted away eight children. The government, women affairs, the SSAs, and the First Lady have not said anything about it. It’s only we the activists for Delta State.
“They pack eight children and take them to the north, change their names to Muslim names, force them to go to the mosque and read the Qur’an. If they decline, they will flog them like an illegal refugee and nothing has happened? Really? Omg,” he wrote.

Orphanage chairman speaks
In a viral video, the Chairman of Happy Home Orphanage, Christopher Nwokoye, also raised concerns over the incident.
He said he was not at home when the officials came, but later discovered a note allegedly left behind by the group.
“When I checked the small paper that was left behind by NAPTIP officials, I saw NAPTIP officials Oka. I now rushed to D Division, their DCO, but he did not send any men from their station to come to this orphanage home.
“Then on Monday morning I went to NAPTIP office at the Federal Secretariat in Oka, and I met their head of duties. After I showed him the note I came with, he told me that it’s not from them, that it’s from Kano,” he explained.
Naija News reports that as of press time, relevant authorities had yet to respond to the allegations, sparking concerns among activists and residents of Delta State.
